Connected Ife: a West African empire in the globalized Middle Ages
This seminar organized by Gérard Chouin from February 24 to March 1 aims to study the development of infrastructure and the history of Ile-Ife, an influential medieval urban center in the forest region of West Africa between 1000 and 1400 CE. Ile-Ife, today a city of 500,000 inhabitants in Nigeria, is considered the cradle of Yoruba civilization and has attracted the interest of researchers since the beginning of the 20th century. Meeting of the Jury for the Photography Prize
The foundation’s photo jury met from January 24 to 26 to designate the next winners of the residency prize for photography and the Escourbiac – Fondation des Treilles prize.
Please note in your agenda if you are in Paris on February 6 : meeting at Initial Labo in Boulogne-Billancourt for the presentation of the 3 new winners and to discover at the same time the photographic works produced by Jean-Christophe Ballot, Paul Lemaire and Mohamed Mahdy, 2023 winners of the Photo Prize.
