The Photography Prize – Terms and conditions of participation

  -    -  The Photography Prize – Terms and conditions of participation

1. Duration and period of stay at the Treilles domain

The duration of stay cannot neither be less than one month nor exceed the duration granted by the jury.

It must take place during the seminars opening period, from March to November, with an interruption in August. This period may vary according to the annual program.

The dates are fixed in agreement with the management. When the 1st day of the month happens to be Friday, the laureate is welcomed on the following Monday. When the last day of the month is Sunday, he/she must leave the previous Saturday before 12 noon.

2. Prize Payment

The monthly amount of the prize is 2,650 euros, paid at the end of each month, after deduction of potential costs.

3. Travel and refund

A single round trip as well as taxi transfers from Nice airport or Les Arcs-Draguignan train station are covered on the basis of geographical packages established by the foundation, and upon presentation of travel documents.

The Fondation des Treilles is part of a sustainable development approach. This is why it is recommended, whenever possible, to favor the train over the plane.

Additional travel remains the responsibility of the resident.

4. Daily life at Les Treilles

The resident benefits from an individual accommodation.

Breakfast and lunch are taken in the resident’s accommodation. Evening meals are shared with seminar guests at the Grande Maison. When there is no seminar, the evening meal is taken at home.

Cleaning and change of linen are carried out by the foundation staff once a week. It is asked to ensure that the premises are kept in a good state of cleanliness. Failing this, the foundation reserves the right to invoice the service.

Personal laundry is under the resident’s responsibility. The laundry room is located at the rear of the “Maison de la Piscine” (Pool House).

The resident benefits from access to the library of the “Grande Maison”, where the seminars take place. The library is equipped with computer and office equipment. The books can be borrowed for the duration of the stay. For specific requests, please consult the library’s online catalog at the following address: https://catalogue.treilles.biblibre.com/ and send a message to v.dubec@fondationdestreilles.com.

The foundation provides a laboratory for the development of digital photographs and a laboratory for the development of film photos. Additional needs are the responsibility of the winner.

We are grateful to the laureate for bringing his/her most recent work, published in the form of a score or audio medium, in order to enrich the foundation’s library.

In the event of damage to equipment, the corresponding costs are the responsibility of the resident.

In case of occasional absences during the resident’ stay, it is necessary to inform the reception desk at least 7 days in advance to allow better management of services (cooking, cleaning, guarding, library, taxi booking…).

The Treilles area offers the possibility of beautiful walks. A swimming pool (unheated), a tennis court and a bicycle without electric assistance are available.

For information, the foundation is also a farm whose teams are required to intervene regularly on the estate. Despite all their desire for discretion, it can sometimes be a little noisy.

5. Receiving and sending mail

The following postal address can be used to receive mail: Fondation des Treilles, 705 chemin des Treilles, 83690 Tourtour.

Mail is departed every day at noon from the secretariat. It can also be dropped off at the Grande Maison library, for departure the next day.

Stamping is at the resident’s charge.

 6. Visitors

The Domaine des Treilles is a private domain, not open to the public.

The companion is allowed to stay at Les Treilles for short periods, decided in agreement with the management. The foundation secretariat must be notified at least 7 days in advance. A contribution to the accommodation costs of €30 per day will be requested.

However, children, even adults, or other family members are not admitted to the foundation.

Pets are not allowed.

7. Vehicle

The estate is isolated, 4 and 8 km from the nearest villages. To travel within the area, it is recommended to bring your own vehicle.

Failing this, the foundation can provide a vehicle, subject to a financial contribution of €240/month up to a limit of 400 km (any additional km will be charged €0.30). Fuel costs as well as any damage caused to the vehicle (up to the excess) are the responsibility of the resident.

8. Link with other activities of the foundation

A summary biography is requested before arrival. This will be published on the foundation’s website and social networks.

It is possible, exceptionally, to attend seminar sessions. The request must be made to the seminar reception service, who will contact the organizer. It is also welcomed, if you wish, to give a presentation of the work you are carrying out.

9. Respect for people and premises

All the foundation’s staff, in the diversity of their professions, ensure the well-being and smooth running of their guests’ stay. In return, residents are asked to observe the basic rules of courtesy and respect (dress, condition of the house, etc.).

10. Commitments towards the foundation

Following their stay, the laureate undertakes to:

  • Submit a short report (1 to 3 pages) describing the work experience at les Treilles and in their missions abroad, within two months after the end of stay.
  • Mention the Fondation des Treilles on each publication or exhibition related to their project.
  • Deposit a minimum of 3 snapshots/artists’ prints, with assignment of exploitation rights.

Any breach of these regulations is likely to call into question the duration of the stay and consequently the payment of the prize.
